Nyendwa Kezzias is a 56-year-old coach who used to be a 400m athlete, representing his country in various tournaments. After retiring from the sport in 1997, he started coaching at the police college. In the year 2000, he was appointed as the head coach for Zambia police and has achieved many notable accomplishments in the service. Coach Nyendwa is one of the few coaches to attain Level 4 of the IAAF, which is now known as World Athletics Coaching Badges. He completed his Level 1 course at the University of Zambia, and Levels 2, 3, and 4 were taken in Nairobi, Kenya. Kezzias has coached the national team in various major events such as the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games, Algiers 2017 Africa Youth Games, Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games, and 2014 Region 5 Games in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He also led the national team to the 2020 Region 5 Games in Maseru, Lesotho, the Senior Southern Region Track and Field Championships in Gaborone, the Senior Southern Region Track and Field Championships in Port Louis, Mauritius, and served as deputy national head coach and head coach at the Cali 2022 World Junior Track and Field Championships in Colombia. Currently, Coach Nyendwa is the deputy head coach for the national team and will lead the athletics team to the Commonwealth Youth Games.
