Zambia's U-20 Chess Team, led by the National Champion Samuel Mumba, is gearing up for the Africa Junior Chess Championship slated for Mauritania next month. Mumba will be accompanied by Rafael Sharon, currently representing Zambia in Italy at the World Junior Championship,others are Naomi Mwale and Victoria Mweetwa. Leslie Chikuse, President of the Chess Federation of Zambia, emphasized the significance of the tournament in fostering the development of young international chess talents under the age of 20. Chikuse also praised Sharon's impressive performance in Italy, where he has secured 5.5 points from 9 rounds, currently ranking 30th out of 150 players.
