Zambia will take to the pitch this evening against their main rival in the COSAFA region, South Africa, in the semifinal of the 22nd edition of the tournament. They aim to defend the title and win it for a record-breaking seventh time. In another semifinal fixture, two teams that have never won the COSAFA Cup before, Malawi and Lesotho, will face off in the early kick-off fixture scheduled for 15:00 CAT. However, the focus will mainly be on the Zambia vs South Africa encounter set for 18:00hrs. The Moses Sichone-led COSAFA team will be hoping to build on their 4-2 win over Seychelles in the final fixture of the group stage. They have so far recorded 1 loss and 2 wins at the tournament. With Chipolopolo head coach Avram Grant among the backroom staff at the moment, fans expect a much-improved performance from the team, especially after the team conceded 2 late goals in their last fixture against Seychelles. This result resulted in Moses Sichone's displeasure with his boys' lack of concentration. “I must say I am quite disappointed because of the attitude. I mean, if you score four goals, the game is done. You need to concentrate. It’s just unfortunate that each game we are conceding silly goals,” he added.
