Monday, 8th May 2023, Chilata knuckled Georgian Eighth Seed to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Boxing World Championships. On Monday, Zambian lightweight Boxer Andrew Chilata secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Boxing World Championships in Tashkent by defeating the world's eighth seed, Artush Gomtsyan of Georgia. Although Gomtsyan dominated the first round, Chilata managed to turn the tide and clinch a 4-0 unanimous points decision victory. Andrew was almost giving up in the first round because of the consistent blows he received from Artrush who seemingly was minded to gun town Andrew even in the second round.
