The Zambian government has purchased new boots for the Copper Queens in preparation for their crucial match against Spain in the FIFA Women's World Cup. The decision to acquire new boots was made because some Zambians attributed the team's 5-0 loss to Japan to the unsuitability of their footwear for the Waikato turf. The new boots, which are valued at over K200,000, were procured through the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts. Minister of Youth, Sport, and Arts, Elvis Nkandu, stated that these new boots will offer the Copper Queens additional options and enhance their performance against Spain. Currently at the bottom of Group C with zero points following their defeat to Japan, Zambia must defeat Spain in their upcoming match to stand a chance of advancing to the knockout stages.
