The WMTRC combines mountain running and trails running in a single, high-class mountain and trail running event to offer athletic action of the highest level. Zambia is among the 68 countries that are taking part in this year's challenging running trail alongside Turkey, Lebanon, Brazil, China, Ukraine, and Chile among others. Apart from Zambia, Only three other African countries are taking part in this year's trials and including Kenya, Uganda, and Equatorial Guinea.
