The Special Olympics World Games kicked off this evening with an opening ceremony attended by athletes and delegates from across the world. The games are scheduled to run from June 17th to June 25th and will feature over 1,000 athletes and delegates. Zambia will be participating in various games, including javelin throw and wheelchair tennis, with the goal of winning more medals for the country. According to information shared by the World Special Olympics, athletics will be the first game to take place at Olympia Park, followed by badminton at Messe Berlin and basketball at Neptubrunnen Square. Other sports scheduled to be played include powerlifting, table tennis, golf, futsal, tennis, sailing, football, field hockey, open water swimming, handball, and many more.
