Joshua has been unveiled as the next Commonwealth Youth Games team member who will be competing in a few weeks' time. The 17-year-old Joshua Mpaza is a 400m track athlete who also competes in 200m races. His personal best time in the 200m is 22.23 seconds, and 47.21 seconds in the 400m race. Mpaza participated in the African Union Regional Five games held in Malawi in December 2022 and the 2023 Confederation of African Athletics CAA under 18 and under 20 African Athletics Championships hosted by Zambia. Joshua has one medal to his name, a bronze he won at the regional five games with the 4x400m relay team. His target is to reach the finals of the Trinbago Games, which are coming up soon.
