The Chess Player's Commission, operating within the Chess Federation of Zambia (CFZ), serves as a dedicated body to advocate for the interests of all chess players in Zambia. Its primary purpose is to ensure that players' voices are heard and their experiences are leveraged to enhance the sport. Established in November 2022, the Commission comprises members appointed by CFZ, including IM Andrew Kayonde who serves as the Chairperson, and Agatha Chitula who is the secretary. Other members are FM Prince Daniel Mulenga, Timothy Bwalya Mapili, Jackson Chansa, and Niza Chilangwa. The Commission guarantees that decisions made by CFZ and its Zones take into account their potential impact on players. It also provides a platform for consulting with players, facilitating the early inclusion of their thoughts and opinions in CFZ's decision-making processes, as well as fostering stronger connections among players by encouraging peer-to-peer interaction.
