Since day one, Zambia has been seen putting up a good performance at the tournament. The tournament has attracted different countries including Angola the host, Malawi, and Nigeria among other countries. Day one started with a cool 800 Freestyle swim with Zambian Desai, Winnie, and Mbewe taking on the 800 Free in the 14 Under category. Joshua Mulenga and Aaryan Desai were up next and opened up Zambia's medal count with Joshua bagging a super silver and Aaryan a brilliant bronze. Zoah 'Cool Guy' Cooney closed off the Zambian 800 entries, slashing an impressive 25 seconds of his entry time. Sibongile Miti finished in a podium position in her two events of the day, in which 50breast and a minted silver with a 100back where she pulled bronze. Tamenji Miti also took part in 50breast and minted a Bronze and still looks forward to more wins. On Wednesday, 3rd May 2023, we also saw the master category meant for the retired swimmers, with most over 30 years, where Zambia also performed exceptionally well with two Gold medals to take home. Urshlla Gomes minted Silver in 50 breasts, Sophie Peach brought up a good performance and minted Gold and finally, Matthew Shone who is also commonly known as "Sichone" also minted Gold in 50 breaststrokes. The Competition continues tomorrow with Urshlla and Sophie taking on the 50 Fly and Matthew will tackle the tough 200 Breast. Congratulations to all the Swimmers! Photo Credit-ZSU
