In the first week of April, Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions (OQBP) through its Administrative Secretary, Ben Saili issued a press release for the cancellation of a boxing tournament. Part of the press statement released on 3rd April 2023, states: we as OQPB wish to inform all our stakeholders, the media, boxing fraternity, and the public at large that we have canceled our proposed tournament which was to be held in Mongu, Western Province on 15th April 2023. This follows the cancellation of the Kuomboka ceremony due to a bereavement within the royal family. As per Zambian custom, we are mourning with the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) family who is part of our technical supporters. Having worked with BRE, OQBP will shortly announce the new date and venue for the upcoming tournament. OQPB
