Zambia handball teams have been disqualified from Zone Six Handball Competition for age cheating after the Under-17 reached the Finals of the tournament. The competition is underway in South Africa with confusion arising on what the judges will decide for the punishment and reshuffling the teams who lost. According to Malawi Under 17 Handball Team leader, Alex Simenti, complained about age cheating were lodged against Zambia handball teams. "Malawi Zimbabwe and South Africa launched a complaint to International Handball Federation against Zambia on age cheating after a meeting last night. It has been ruled that Zambia is disqualified in both under 17 and under 20 categories," said Simenti. He added that the Zambia Handball Team will be informed of their fine and will return to Lusaka today. The U-20 had progressed to another stage after defeating South Africa's 34-19 scoreline. Meanwhile, the Handball Association of Zambia has revealed to Zed Sport that the Development is actual and Zambia awaits the punishment that they will be given by the Disciplinary Committee.
