yesterday qualified for the semi-finals of the International Handball Federation (|HF) Women Challenge in South Africa after beating Madagascar 41-32. After beating Malawi 43-17 in a Group A match on Tuesday, the Zambians did not drop the guard against the Islanders. Zambia will today face Namibia in their last group match, before engaging either South Africa or Zimbabwe for a place in the final tomorrow. Coach Musa Kambundu made three changes to the starting line-up that played Malawi. He rested Angela Mweenda (center-back), Sarah Hampoko (right-back), and Mercy Mwalongwana (pivot) for Angela Mwansa, Elina Chaaba, and Grace Mwalongwani respectively, while goalkeeper Clara Kabunda, right winger Patricia Namwinga and right-back Inutu Mwangala were maintained. Coach Kambundu said the team deserves a slot in the semi-finals as they worked hard to win the overall trophy.
