Zambia's quest for a maiden World Cup appearance at the senior national team level is all but set, with the draws confirmed this evening from Ivory Coast. The Chipolopolo have been drawn in Group E alongside Tanzania, Niger, Eritrea, Congo Brazzaville, and Morocco. Zambia will need to overcome Morocco, the only African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in history, if they are to qualify for the 2026 tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Coach Avram Grant's boys will need to be at their best to qualify for the World Cup from what looks like an interesting group in Group E.
