28TH April to 1st May 2023 the Chess Federation of Zambia (CFZ) will coordinate the 2023 Zambia Schools and youth closed Championship which will be at play from 28th to 1st May 2023. To promote inclusiveness, CFZ has invited all the Schools who are interested in registering their participants before 28th April. The Championship will cover groups ranging from U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14, and U-16. According to FIDE regulations, the 2023 National School and Youth tournament will be opened not only to schools but to every individual out there who is interested in taking part in the sport. This will include, non-club registered members, or any person who might not be registered with any Chess Federation or group. According to the set rules, each school will be allowed to enter a maximum of 10 players in each category, subject to payment of their prescribed fees, such as tournament and registration fees. As a way of motivating the participants, Prizes such as laptops, school bags, uniforms, and scholarships will be offered to the first runners in each category.
