The upcoming 2023 Africa Youth Championship in Egypt has prompted the Chess Federation of Zambia to enlist the assistance of four highly skilled players. Among them are the International Master (IM) duo Stanley and Kelvin Chumfwa, as well as Fide Masters (FM) Prince Mulenga and Geoffrey Luanja. Their primary role is to help prepare the national team for the tournament scheduled from September 1-9 in Cairo, where the winners of the Open and girls' sections will secure a spot in the World Junior Championships next year. Leslie Chikuse, the president of the Chess Federation of Zambia, expressed confidence in the abilities of these four players. He stated in a recent interview that they are well-equipped to handle the task at hand and ensure the team's thorough preparation for this significant Africa Youth event.
