The Lusaka Province Chess Association (LPCA) will commence its 2023 league on the weekend of 17th and 18th June 2023, respectively at NIPA Main Campus in Lusaka. Some clubs which did not meet the association's requirements to continue in the incoming league did not manage to make it through the final clubs' list to be taking part in the 2023 chess league. Some of the clubs that were shortlisted for being eligible to take part in the 2023 season under the Elite League are Nkwazi, Red Arrows, Green Eagles, Green Buffaloes, NAPSA A, NAPSA B, Yofoso Kings, Kafue, UNZA and Liyoca. Meanwhile, those that will be participating in the LPCA LEAGUE B include Lusaka Chess Club, UNZA B, ZICAS, Yofoso Knights, Little Legends, Goodwill Trust, NIPA, and Red Arrows B. LPCA has therefore directed all teams and clubs which have not yet confirmed participation should register with the association by Friday, 26th May 2023. The LPCA secretariat has therefore flagged all those who have not registered to be out of both local and International chess tournaments for the 2023 season.
