A 5-week learning sprint has commenced, aimed to train 50 Climate Action Ambassadors who will become Sustainability Champions in five schools across Lusaka. The program which is supported by the Commonwealth Wealth Federation, will have participants who will engage in educational sessions on Climate Change and its impact on the environment, the Commonwealth Sports Movement, and how sports can be leveraged to raise awareness about climate change. Upon completion of the training, the schools involved are expected to establish Climate Action Clubs, conduct awareness and educational sessions with peers, and host activities to teach sustainability, among other initiatives. The facilitating team has already begun their journey, starting at Libala Secondary School, where 15 enthusiastic students participated in the first two sections, which were engaging and informative. This initiative is part of the Game Changers Programme and comes with support through Commonwealth Sports Foundation. To ensure that there is a smooth running of the training, the NOCZ Zambia has partnered with the Wildlife and Environmental Conservation Society of Zambia (WECSZ) to deliver the training. Friday, 28th April 2023 marked the kick-off of the training Conducted at Libala along Chilumbulu Road in Lusaka.
