The government has said that the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Under-18 and Under-20 Championship was a success and has created a lasting impression of the country's capability to stage international events. "We had joy, happiness, and disappointments. This is what sport is all about. Most importantly, it was a celebration of friendship and unity in the spirit of the African Union," Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo said during the closing ceremony on Wednesday night. Matambo further added that hosting the championship availed an opportunity for Zambia to demonstrate the capabilities and ability to unite around a common goal from its powerful cultural diversity. For five days, Levy Mwanawasa Stadium was amazed with the atmosphere of mutual respect created by the spirit of sportsmanship, and everyone who loves sport and believes in its unity purpose.
