Para-Badminton Commissioner, Jennifer Phiri has said that there is a need to develop sports Infrastructure that will enable Athletes with special needs to compete in a conducive environment. On 16th April 2023, Jennifer disclosed to the media on the country's need to provide a safe and enabling environment that will not leave out para-athletes and all sportsmen and women with special needs. Phiri added that the Infrastructure does not offer enough support to athletes with special needs because they lack the necessary equipment and facilities, which has disadvantaged them. "Erecting infrastructure, which supports children and youths with special needs will not only provide a safe environment, but it will also increase participation," She added. Phiri has therefore called for all willing stakeholders to come on board as there is a need to raise Sponsorship to fund para activities.
