Lightweight Boxer Andrew Chilata is on the road to the quarter-finals at the ongoing International Boxing Association (IBA) World Championship in Uzbekistan. The event started on Monday, 1st May 2023, with Zambia being represented by three boxers Commonwealth Games silver and bronze medallists Stephen Zimba and Patrick Chinyemba respectively are the other boxers at a Competition that is also acting as qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Chilata whose first-round opponent did not show up, will face the winner between Mckhak Ghazaryan of Armenia and Ntungiyebose M of Burundi in a quarter-final bout. Chilata traveled to Uzbekistan after winning gold at the African Elite Boxing Championship. The IBA Championship is ongoing and more fighters are looking forward to winning the remaining matches.
