A 14-year-old draughts player will be among 20 participants set to represent Zambia at the African Championship scheduled for Lusaka in July 2023. Clement Mwanza of Mtendere compound draughts club was selected to the national team after he put up an impressive performance during the just-ended National individual championship. Mwanza says that he is elated to qualify for the national team as he targets to earn the title of grandmaster in the future. Meanwhile, Zambian Draughts Federation Generals Secretary, Raphael Phiri said that Mwanza will be nurtured and exposed because he has what it takes to become a national champion in the future.
