The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) is pleased with Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola ahead of the Africa Under-18 and Under-20 Championship which is set to take place from 29th April to 3rd May 2023. A team of CAA inspectors, government officials led by the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts Permanent Secretary Kangwa Chileshe, Zambia Athletics (ZA), and members of the local organizing committee toured the stadium early this week to assess its readiness. During the tour from 11th to 12th April 2023, Chileshe also who also presides over the local organizing committee, is impressed with the preparedness of the stadium and the work done. Kangwa narrated that the local organizing committee has been working around the clock to ensure that the remaining works are completed. The event was initially set for National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka with OYDC-Zambia Sports Development Centre reserved as the training venue, but rehabilitation works at the two facilities have been delayed, hence switching to Ndola.
