Zambia recently hosted the Junior Championship of Athletics at the Ndola Mwanawasa Stadium due to a shift that the National Heroes Stadium was not fit for the hostship due to its bad state. "When we received Officials from the Confederation of African Athletics ( CAA), they said that we needed to remove the turf and put in a new one, but when we took them to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, they said it was okay," Nkandu said. The CAA Championship hence took place in Ndola and different volunteers and service providers came on board to support the noble cause of ensuring that the championship runs smoothly. The sad Development which saddened the service providers was that they did not receive their money despite different services and voluntary works being rendered to the local organizing Committee. Also, we saw the Kenyan side of athletes spending the night on the floor which did not give a good indication of proper management. When different service providers who spoke in anonymity reached out to the Ministry of Sport, they were given hopes that their money will soon be out and clearance was going to be made. "Some service providers and volunteers who world during the CAA U-18 and U-20 Championships in Ndola are yet to be paid but the assurance is there that the money will be out soon," Nkandu Disclosed.
