FIDE Master (FM) Prince Mulenga is brimming with confidence as he anticipates the stellar performance of Zambian chess players in the upcoming 2023 Moja Chess Extravaganza, set to take place in Kimberley, South Africa. This prestigious competition has drawn some of the finest chess talents from across the continent and promises to be an intense weekend of strategic battles. The event has garnered significant attention, with a multitude of players registering their participation. Amongst the participants are skilled chess players hailing from Southern Africa, as well as some from the East African region. In a recent interview, Mulenga, who is gearing up to contest the Prestige Open alongside Zambia's highest-ranked player, Gillan Bwalya, expressed his belief that this tournament would stand as one of the most challenging they've ever faced. The competition is poised to test the mettle of these players as they vie for chess glory and the coveted medals.
