Power Dynamos' hopes of defending their Zambian Super League title were dealt a blow on Sunday afternoon as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Kabwe Warriors at Railways Stadium in Kabwe. The visitors were off to a nightmare start, conceding just three minutes into the match when Mwamba Mutombo capitalised on a defensive error to give the hosts the lead. Power Dynamos struggled to find their rhythm in the opening stages of the match, and they were punished again in the 15th minute when Ocean Mushure doubled Warriors' advantage with a well-taken goal. The defending champions were unable to find a way back into the match, and Kabwe Warriors held on for a comfortable victory. The result leaves Power Dynamos in seventh place on the table with 12 points from 8 matches. Kabwe Warriors, meanwhile, move into fourth place with 15 points. For Power Dynamos, this was their second consecutive defeat, having also lost to Green Buffaloes 3-1 in a rescheduled fixture last weekend. The defending champions have now only won once in their last five games in all competitions, and they will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host Zanaco in their next match. Kabwe Warriors, on the other hand, will be buoyed by this victory, and they will be hoping to continue their good form when they travel to face Zesco United in their next match.
