Tuesday, 2nd May 2023 was one of the interesting days at the ongoing Junior Championship of Athletes in Ndola. The tournament will today come to an end and has seen good performance, especially from South Africa and other guests being hosted at the tournament. Day 5 of the U18/U20 Championships concluded well as Zambia bagged two bronze medals in the 4x100m relays in the men's and women's respectively. Zambia now has four medals two (2) silver and two (2) bronze but the majority of Athletes were eliminated in the Preliminaries. The Championships which attracted over 40 Countries saw spectators cheering up for Zambian athletes as they raced to the finish line to secure medals. The men’s relay team comprised Chongo Mulambo, Julio Kapilikisha, Lukundo Katambalala, and Joseph Daka while the women’s team had Blessing Miyambo, Kabinga Mpande, Ruth Mutale, and Edna Ngandula. Today will mark the closing ceremony of the Championships and will see most Athletes returning back home with more medals than the host county. Photo Credit-CAA
