The Special Olympics Zambia says there is a need for a multi-sectoral approach in preparing the team that will represent the country at this year's World Summer games in Germany. Acting Sports Coordinator Shadrick Kaputa said that the athletes need a lot of support where finances are concerned. Shadrick added that having adequate financial and material support will enable the nine athletes effectively take part in the games in Germany. In an interview, Kaputa said that the athletes will be taking part in various sporting activities such as athletics and judo, among other activities. Kaputa has therefore called on all stakeholders who are willing to partner with the Association as they prepare to raise awareness for children with special needs on the need for them to be actively engaged in sports.
