Albert Kangwanda, the Zambian striker who finished as a joint top scorer at the just-ended 22nd edition of the COSAFA Cup, has attracted interest from Royal AM and Golden Arrows in South Africa. Kangwanda, who has won the COSAFA Cup twice with Zambia, has had two successful tournaments in South Africa, scoring in the final last year against Namibia before being an important part of this year's squad that defended the title and won it for a record seventh time. Sources close to both Royal AM and Golden Arrows have confirmed that the clubs had sent scouts to watch Kangwanda in action during COSAFA, and they were impressed with what they saw. "What I can tell you, for now, is that those two teams have shown interest in Albert (Kangwanda)," said the source. "They both sent their scouts to the COSAFA Cup, and they were impressed by what they saw. What I am not sure of is whether they have already contacted the team (Red Arrows) or not. But he is a good player and he can fit in whichever team he joins." Kangwanda is currently contracted to Red Arrows in Zambia, but it is unclear whether the club would be willing to sell him. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
