Zambia's Copper Queens capped off their historic first appearance at the FIFA Women's World Cup with a 3-1 win over Costa Rica in their final group match. The win, which was Zambia's first-ever at the World Cup, came courtesy of goals from Lushomo Mweemba, Barbra Banda, and Racheal Kundananji. Mweemba opened the scoring in the third minute, becoming the first Zambian player, male or female, to score at the World Cup. Her goal is now the quickest goal at the ongoing World Cup. Banda then doubled Zambia's lead from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, before Kundananji added a third in stoppage time. Banda's goal was also a historic milestone as it marked the 1000th goal in the history of the Women's World Cup.
