29th April 2023, Copperbelt Minister Hon. Elisha Matambo has applauded the government and CAA for choosing his province to host the just-started Junior Athletic Championships in Ndola. Elisha is longing for international sports bodies to give Ndola a chance to host more tournaments which will also trigger development in the Province. To ensure that there is law and order, the ministry is closely working with the police who are securing and monitoring Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. "This time around, we have ensured that no one is harassed at the premises, violent people will be dealt with because we want to ensure more investors come on board," He said. The honorable further said that he is delighted to have our Head of State Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, officiate at the official opening ceremony of the Second Edition of the combined Under 18/20 Confederation of African Athletes Championship (CAA) at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. "Young athletes from across the African continent have come together in Ndola with a common goal of achieving sports par excellence while embracing values of brotherhood and respect to all participants," Elisha added.
