South Africa was yesterday welcoming all the Athletes who participated at the just-ended CAA Championships which were hosted at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola and they are the crowned overall winners. The medal table at the 2nd edition of the Confederation of Africa Athletics U18/U-20 was in favor of SA after putting up a good performance and dominating most categories. South Africa to a lead of 52 Gold, 52 Silver, and 51 bronze as the host country poorly reap only 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. The SA Athletes included Hencu Lamberts, who sent the shot sailing beyond 20 meters in the junior men's 200m final at the CAA African U18 and U20 Championships. Another one was World U20 Championships medallist high jump medalist Brian Raats, who stepped on the podium again at the CAA African U18 and U20 Championships in Zambia and hit 20.1m with a gold medal tied to him. South Africa Athletics Association is pleased with its Athletes and wishes to welcome them back home and hopes that they will participate in more International Championships.
