Esther Chitete Munsaka, an 18-year-old goalkeeper for the Copper Queens, spoke with FAZ media at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka before the national team departed for a three-week training camp in Germany. They are preparing for the upcoming World Cup next month. Chitete, who plays for Elite Ladies FC, expressed her happiness and acknowledged the significance of her inclusion in the senior team, recognizing the challenges ahead. She emphasized the need to work tirelessly during training to secure one of the 23 spots in the final squad representing Zambia at the World Cup. "I feel very happy because it's not an easy thing to be in the senior team and be among the 35 going to Germany," Chitete said. She also highlighted the importance of the three friendly games in Germany, believing they will greatly impact their World Cup performance and provide valuable experience for self-assessment. Grateful for her supporters, Chitete thanked them for their unwavering encouragement. She expressed her determination to continue working hard and aiming to bring joy to those who believe in her. Chitete has yet to make her senior debut, having recently been promoted from the Zambia Under 17 team. She remained an unused substitute in the game against Tanzania at Woodlands Stadium.
