Strongman Federation of Zambia is an organization that looks at the welfare of the weightlifters in the country and provides a platform for them to discover their potential. The majority of the Athletes that competed at the just-ended Arnold Classic Championship in South Africa are from Strongman Foundation. Strongman athletes include the reigning Mr. Zambia, Gift Habeenzu who scooped the African title at the just-ended Arnold championship, Nicole Moyo who is a strongman medalist, and David Mberi among others. Strongman Zambia Federation President, Patterson Muzondiwa has applauded all Zambian Athletes at the just-ended Arnold Classic Competition. In an interview conducted on Wednesday, 23rd May 2023, Muzondiwa said that the federation is proud of the massive achievement and winning of the overall trophy. “You have seen with your own eyes that the medals are now in the country, we won overall at the just-ended Arnold Classic in South Africa. We are happy with what we have achieved for now because all the athletes are focused and dedicated to their core values and rules set for the game," He said. Patterson added that their performance in the past was quite challenging but the Athletes battled and conquered their fears. Strongman Medalist Nicole Moyo took time to highlight the joy of winning a medal as she looks forward to the next tournament. “The events were fine, I had to step up to a whole new level and it went pretty well. Each challenge brings a new opportunity so we are looking forward to what will be set in the incoming championships,” She said. David Mberi who is also a strongman medalist added that some of the challenges faced during the championship included meeting up with new contestants without knowing their strengths and weaknesses. “We focused more on our strengths but we didn’t research what other opponents are doing and discover how best we could handle them,” He said.
