HOW WILL THE TABLES TURN IN THIS WEEKEND'S MBA

In the MBA, the Bulldogs Basketball Club has been playing excellent basketball. They are currently in third place, just behind Munali Suns and Matero Magic, two of Zambia's top teams. With the top two teams competing in the Bravehearts International Basketball Challenge in Malawi, the Bulldogs had been in command of the game. Two weeks earlier, they defeated the Silver Medalists from the National Championship, the Green Buffaloes, to round up the league's weekend games. They defeated the army side 74–60, taming them. This is the team that has already given the only loss of the season to Matero Magic, the BAL-bound team and current national champions of Zambia. They only won again this past weekend, maintaining their ranking as the third-best men's squad in Zambia's top division. It will be intriguing to watch how the Munali vs. Bulldogs game plays out because it may either solidify the current situation or see the two teams switch places. The Bulldogs' next assignment is a match scheduled for NASDEC on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 14:00 against the Huskies. When asked what was the key to their recent success, Bulldogs coach Mulemwa Balamani, who was reluctant to speak, said that their structured approach to the game was the reason behind their newfound team success. "I think it's because we're managing the organization this season in a more structured manner." stated Coach Tony. He continued by saying that while the team's basics and style of play haven't really altered, the addition of new players has improved the team's effort to meet its goals. The coach praised his club leadership for bringing in some new ideas. Follow Zed sport for more basketball news and updates.

BREAKING NEWS: FAZ STARTS PAYING REFEREE'S THEIR MONIES WITH HOPE FOR MATCHES TO RESUME NORMALLY.

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has finally begun settling unpaid debts owed to match officials, ending a two-season standoff that threatened to derail domestic football competitions. This announcement follows a protest by referees who had hanged up their whistles until their dues were paid in full. Matches across various leagues witnessed postponements and rescheduling due to the unavailability of referees, frustrated by FAZ's inaction over outstanding allowances. After a crucial meeting at Football House involving FAZ President Andrew Kamanga, General Secretary Reuben Kamanga, Finance Committee Chairman, Referees Chairman,Interim Referees Manager and Coordinators on Wednesday resolution was reached to release owed payments and encourage referees to resume their duties. As of now, five provinces have received their payments, with the remaining five expected to submit their claims soon. This development signals the much-needed resumption of league matches, which were thrown into uncertainty with Southern and Central Provinces cancelling their weekends fixtures on Friday morning fixtures due to the ongoing dispute.
