Zambian Judokas Steven Mung'andu and Simon Zulu clinched gold medals at the Dakar African Open 2023 in Senegal. NOCZ President Alfred Foloko, who is also heading the Judo Association of Zambia, applauded Mung'andu and Zulu for their outstanding performances in the -66kg and -60kg categories. He also added that the victorious pair will enjoy holidays in Zambia before preparing for the 2024 competitions, which serve as qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, before returning to their base in Hungary.
