Rachel Masuku is a remarkable female Judoka whose early years were spent in the Copperbelt region, specifically at Kamfinsa Police Camp in Kitwe. Later, she made the pivotal decision to relocate to Lusaka after completing her education, setting the stage for her impressive journey in the world of sports. Her journey into Judo was a result of her deep-seated passion and a touch of familial inspiration. Rachel's uncle, an accomplished Judoka, served as her initial source of motivation. Growing up in a family with a strong sports background, the choice between football and Judo presented a unique challenge. Sports have been the cornerstone of Rachel's life. Her unwavering dedication to sports is evident in everything she does, even extending to her educational aspirations. She envisions herself studying sports management in the future. Rachel has achieved significant milestones in her Judo career. She holds certifications as a National Judo Coach and an International Judo Federation Level 1 Coach, Additionally, she serves as the Deputy Director of the Women's Commission for the Zambia Judo Association. Rachel has expressed her desire to leave a legacy as one of the finest female sports coaches. However, her journey has not been without its challenges. She has faced intimidation from male Judokas and has encountered bias due to her gender. She encourages people to always work hard and be available for any challenge as it can make them strong, she believes that focus and determination are key to success.
