Prepare yourselves for the highly anticipated 2023 Mine2Mine Road Race, proudly presented by FQMO Roads Department in collaboration with the generous support of First Quantum Minerals and KMP. This esteemed event promises an unforgettable experience for cycling enthusiasts of all levels. It will run from August 6th, 2023, so get ready for a day filled with thrilling and competitive cycling action. Joining the mix is the 100km Relay Road Race, which currently starts from Lumwana Township at 07:30. This exhilarating race allows teams of 2 or 3 riders, aged 12 and over, to participate. As in the individual race, relay teams will be self-supported and can tailor their approach to complete the 100km course. The excitement begins with the 100km riders, including both individual participants and first leg relay riders, launching their journey at 07:30 from Lumwana town (exact location TBC). For added convenience, the Zambia Cycling Association has prepared for bikers who will not have transport. The relay teams, consisting of two or three riders, will be self-supported during the race and can choose their preferred distances to complete the 100km course. Registration fees are as follows: ZMW200 for individual participants in the main races (100km full grand fondo), ZMW100 for individual kids participating in the 25km race, and ZMW100 per rider in the 140km relay race. ZRQ is delighted to announce that cash prizes will be awarded to the overall winners and category winners. As an exciting addition this year, we are introducing a new MTB category, welcoming the daring participants willing to take on the challenge with their mountain bikes.
