The Zambia Air Force has gifted bicycles to two exceptional cyclists, Vanessa Matende and Obert Chembe. The talented athletes, affiliated with the Red Cycling Club, have been presented with two bicycles as a tribute to their remarkable achievements in local and international competitions. Brigadier Kamina Nyirenda, the Chief of Training, delivered an uplifting message through Colonel Mwenda Liyungu, Acting Chief of Training, urging the dedicated cyclists to persevere in their hard work. Vanessa Matende, who made history as the first female cyclist to compete at the Commonwealth Youth Games, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the Zambia Air Force's gesture, finding it a powerful motivator for her continued success. Obert Chembe was among the participants in the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham. He also won the Men's Elite 200 race at the National Road Race Championships. Vanessa Matende also won the Women's category after enduring 120 km to cycle past the finish line.
