Zambia Air Force (ZAF) has emphasized its dedication to nurturing young talent in various sports disciplines. Brigadier General Kamina Nyirenda, the Chief of Training for ZAF, has expressed the force's commitment to providing support to young individuals under its care, enabling them to excel in their respective sports. ZAF will offer substantial support to cyclists Obert Chembe and Vanessa Matende, both members of the Red Arrows cycling club. Colonel Mwenda Liyungu, the Deputy Chief of Training at ZAF, delivered this message during the presentation of bicycles to the two young cycling athletes. Obert Chembe holds titles such as the 2019 National Champion, 2021-2022 Mine to Mine Champion, and the 2023 Tour Mikango winner, as well as the Elite Men's National Championship. Vanessa Matende, a 16-year-old cyclist, made history as the first Zambian female cyclist to represent Zambia at the Commonwealth Youth Games and is the reigning 2023 National Road Race Elite Women's Champion.
